Berverly
            Carrick

"She
gives a magical quality to the landscape," says one collector of Beverly
Carrick's elegant view of the desert at sunset. The sun, a red ball
of fire poised on the horizon, casts flames of light on the mountains,
coloring them in arrays of violets and oranges. A gently meandering
river draws the viewer back through nature's portrait for a walk through
          the tranquil setting.

As
a child, Beverly wanted to be a ballerina more than anything. Life threw
her a challenge when she lost a leg due to bone cancer. Using art as
therapy she discovered the joy of oil painting. "Painting came into
my life accidentally yet has given so much back to me in the form of
          pure satisfaction and delight."

After
studying with major Californian artists, Beverly began painting seascapes
professionally in 1963. Her seascapes have been praised for their overall
peaceful yet dramatic impact. She captures the movement in the rolling
waves, the sound of the surf and that fleeting colorful moment when
          one wishes for a camera.

Breathtaking
portrayals of landscapes-vast deserts, majestic mountains, quiet streams-continue
to be popular. "What I try to express in my desert paintings", explains
Beverly, "is the way light plays upon the land. Lighting, to me, is
the magic that makes a harsh landscape beautiful. It can turn a stony,
barren mountain into a work of art." Details fall into place and emerge
with remarkable precision in her consistently brilliant desert palette.

Beverly's
followers praise the beauty of her artistic expression, her intent on
accurately rendering the effects of light and shade, the blending of
subtle and vibrant colors. She elicits an emotional response in many
viewers. "You feel either like you've been there before or like you're
seeing a place you'd love to visit soon. Beverly reveals the delicate
moods of landscapes, preserves nature in her artful strokes, captures
a sense of adventure. You can actually feel the cool water sparkling
in the sunlight," expresses an admirer of her work.

Today,
oil paintings by this favorite artist appear in fine collections throughout

her work, and limited editions are also available. The appeal lies in
a unique style, and ageless quality. These realistic depictions are
a tribute to nature, its hues speaking to viewers from the artist's
          special vantage point.
