Marie Gabrielle Carter

Marie Gabrielle was born and raised in Paris, France. Later, after moving to Lyon, she received her education and began the career of a textile designer and colorist. She moved to the United States, got married and raised a family. In Santa Cruz she fell in love with the beauty of the of the scenery and the abundant flora, and decided to paint in watercolor. It was the beginning of a new passion, a dream come true... she became a full time painter.
Marie is a "plein-air" artist. She finds inspiration in local gardens and coastscapes. She has also painted in the Tropics and Europe. Her work has been accepted in juried shows and has won numerous awards.
She participates in private exhibitions and gives classes in watercolor.
