ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Peter Leckett

Peter Leckett's impressionistic landscapes reflect scenes of the Ottawa valley and the surrounding Gatineau Hills. Striving for a fresh, painterly effect, he prefers working outdoors in a "plein-air" style. What his works lack in detail are more than made up for in their honesty and simplicity.

Working principally out of his studio in the Gatineau hills, his choice of medium tends to balance between chalk pastels and watercolours.

"I love watercolours and the endless range of techniques available. However, the simplicity and portability of pastels sometimes lends itself more to painting outdoors."
