Rita Monaco

Rita was born in a small village on the outskirts of Lucca, Tuscany, Italy in 1945, and came to Canada in 1967 settling in Edmonton, where she enrolled in the Fine Arts Honor Program at the University of Alberta
majoring in painting and photography.

After a 20 year career as graphic artist and illustrator she became a full time painter and art teacher in 1993.

A Vancouver resident since 1976, Rita Monaco's variety of subject matter reflects her eclectic personality and her many interests.

Her work is present in collections in Canada, United States, Mexico, France, United Kingdom, and Italy.
