Massive stones, and the structural durability of arches hold this old Roman aqueduct in the ruins of Phaesseus. Nearby is a coliseum - designed much the same as our modern arenas - where Greeks acted their dramatic tragedies and the bloodthirsty Romans pitted man against beast.Turkey now boasts more Greek and Roman ruins than do Greece or Italy, because the Turks have protected their heritage.
